Bought a cheap underwater camera housing off eBay, saved my comms for once
Did a pier inspection in Pensacola last month and kept having issues with my comms box getting wet from spray. Was about to drop $400 on a proper dry bag setup. Instead I found a used housing for like 60 bucks and rigged it old school with zip ties and silicone. Ran three dives with zero moisture in the unit, even in some chop. My buddy still laughs at how it looks but it does the job. Anyone else running budget gear for their surface boxes or am I just asking for trouble down the line?

Add a good desiccant pack inside and check that seal every month, that rig will treat you fine.
