Diving the Gulf after that hurricane changed my whole checklist

I was working a job off Galveston last month, two weeks after the storm pushed through. Water was still crap, but the client wanted their riser inspected anyway. My usual pre-dive check missed that my drysuit zipper had sand in it, spent 20 minutes fighting it at 40 feet. Now I rinse and grease that zipper three times before any harbor dive, no exceptions. Anyone else had gear act up in post-storm murk and have to adjust their routine?
