Saw something weird at the Port of Baltimore last month

I was doing a hull inspection on a container ship near Pier 4 in Baltimore and noticed these big patches on the propeller that looked like they were done with some kind of epoxy instead of proper welding. Has anyone else run into that kind of repair on a prop? It made me wonder if that's becoming a common shortcut or if I just caught a one-off bad job.

Yeah I've seen that cheap epoxy trick before, it never holds up more than a few months.

Did your friend try that or did you just watch them fail?

@cora863 I saw someone try that with a broken phone screen and it looked okay for maybe two weeks. Then it started peeling at the corners and got dust trapped under it. The final straw was when they dropped it and the whole thing just cracked through the epoxy. Not worth the hassle in my book.
