Shoutout to the deck boss in Houma who caught my broken shackle before splash
I was doing a quick inspection job off a small platform near Morgan City and spent almost 40 minutes fighting with my gear because one shackle pin kept sticking. Turned out the threads were galled and a deck boss named Ray spotted it in about 10 seconds when I asked him to take a look. He handed me a spare from his kit and told me to always spin the pin by hand before every splash. How do you all handle sticky shackle pins, do you replace them right away or try to clean the threads first?
