That trick with the extra valve on my drysuit saved me $200 in repairs
My wrist seal kept leaking on dives near Port Angeles last month, and I was about to ship it off for a $200 fix. Instead, I just added a second inflation valve off my hose setup to equalize pressure inside the suit better, and it stopped the leak cold. Anybody else figured out a cheap workaround like that for seals that just won't seat right?

Wait, you cut up an old tire inner tube for your drysuit seal? That's wild, man.

Yo I actually caught a thread on ScubaBoard last week where someone did something similar with their suit. They used a pressure relief valve from an old BCD to stop the squeeze on a deep wreck dive, said it was way cheaper than replacing the wrist seal entirely. Did you just stick a T-fitting in your inflator line or go with a dedicated valve setup? Might try this myself since my right wrist seal has been acting up on cold water drops too.

kept leaking on dives near Port Angeles" reminds me of a buddy who had the same trouble up in Puget Sound. He just shoved a bit of thick rubber gasket material cut from an old tire inner tube under the seal ring and it never leaked again. Cost him nothing and saved his whole weekend trip.
