The harbor seal that learned to open our toolbox
We had a regular visitor on a rig off Vancouver for about six months, a curious harbor seal. It went from just watching us to actually nudging open our pelican case with its nose after maybe three weeks. Anyone else had a local critter pick up a weird work habit?

That's actually amazing. Smart little guy. Makes you wonder what else they're watching us do.

My cat figured out how to open the cabinet where I keep his treats. Now I have to keep a book in front of the door.

Oh man that's wild! We had a raccoon at my old apartment that learned how to work the lever handle on the screen door. It would just let itself in to raid the kitchen. They're way smarter than we give them credit for, they're totally just watching and learning all the time. Makes you a little paranoid about what you do in front of them lol.
