TIL Kirby Morgan band masks ain't always the best for low vis work

I used to swear by my KM 37 for everything until I tried a neck dam style mask on a job up in Port Angeles last month. The KM kept fogging up in 3 foot vis water, but the neck dam just worked way better for me down there. Anyone else switch masks depending on conditions or am I overthinking this?

Haha classic, right? I had the same thing happen to me on a job in Puget Sound. My KM 37 was basically a fog machine that day. Neck dam masks are totally underrated for that muck, man. No joke, I switched to a low profile Ocean Reef and felt like I could actually see stuff again. Your mileage may vary, but I'm with you on this one.

Actually wonder if part of the problem is how tight those low profile masks sit against your face. Had a buddy try one in cold water and it compressed his sinuses so bad he got a headache halfway through the dive. Not saying neck dams are better just that nobody talks about the pressure points on those smaller masks.

You know what, I used to think the opposite but you make a good point there.
