Can we talk about how the 7:15 bus beats the 7:40 bus by a mile?
I started taking the 7:15 bus from the Elm Street stop after my neighbor Ray told me the 7:40 always gets stuck behind the school zone on Oak Ave and adds 12 minutes. Sure enough, the earlier bus gets me to the transit center before the crowd piles in, so I actually get a seat and my coffee stays upright. Is it just me, or does leaving 25 minutes earlier somehow get you there 40 minutes sooner?
Took this a step further and started tracking it with my phone stopwatch for a week. The 7:15 not only skips the Oak Ave mess, it also hits the light at 5th and Main before the crossing guard even sets up, so you roll straight through. Add up the seat, the coffee, and not standing in the aisle, and yeah, those 25 minutes buy you way more than 25 back. Only catch is you gotta be at the stop by 7:10 or you're watching it pull away.
Tracked mine too and the timing thing is real, @oscar743, because that bus actually shows up about two minutes early most days so 7:10 is already pushing it. The other hack is sitting on the left side past the third stop, since the sun hits the right side hard and you end up squinting the whole ride. Set two alarms and treat 7:08 as your real cutoff or you'll be standing there watching it shrink down the street.
