Calling knitting needles a "commute lifesaver" misses the hassle for me. On a crowded bus, you're always jostling and risk poking someone with a needle. I tried it once and dropped a stitch when we hit a bump, unraveling a whole row. It creates more stress than it relieves for most normal trips.

My cousin tried knitting on the 7:15 express and had the same disaster as jones.nancy. People just want a quiet win on their commute, but public transit always finds a way to ruin it.
