I finally get why people swear by folding bikes after my bus experiment

I spent 4 months taking the 42 bus downtown and got stuck in that I-5 backup every single morning. Last week I rented a Brompton from the shop on 3rd and rode the last 2 miles from the transit center. The difference was night and day, I actually arrived at work before my coffee got cold. Has anyone else tried mixing bike and bus for the final stretch instead of fighting the whole route?
