Noticed something weird at the train station platform yesterday

I was waiting for the 5:15 at Union Station downtown yesterday, the usual chaos. But I started watching people, just standing there, and I swear half of them were fixated on their phones even when their train was literally pulling in. There was this one guy who almost missed his train because he was scrolling, then he had to sprint and barely made it. It got me thinking about how we all kind of zone out during the commute, like we're on autopilot. I even caught myself doing it, checking email while the doors were closing. Does anyone else notice how disconnected everyone gets, or am I just being too observant today?

Same thing happens at my job site every morning. Guys walking into the warehouse staring at their screens, almost bumping into forklifts. Whole world's walking around with tunnel vision now.

Watched this same thing play out at a grocery store checkout line the other day. Everyone had their phone out, scanning their feeds instead of looking at the actual people around them. Its like we're all living in our own little bubbles now, scrolling through everyone else's lives while ignoring the real ones happening right in front of us. The train thing is just one slice of a bigger pie where we've traded actual human moments for digital ones. Even at red lights I see people checking their phones instead of looking at the sunset or the kid in the backseat. We're all just sleepwalking through our own lives.
