Saw a guy eating a full sandwich on the subway yesterday

I was on the F train in Brooklyn around 8am. He pulls out a whole sub, takes these huge bites, and just stares at everyone. Is eating on crowded trains just normal now or am I the weird one?

Your mileage may vary but I've never had a problem with someone eating on the train. People gotta get to work and sometimes that means breakfast on the go.

That's just it though - this whole "everyone needs to be comfortable ALL the time" thing is getting out of hand. People forget that public transit was NEVER supposed to be a quiet library or a sterile lunch room. It's a shared space where people are just trying to get from point A to point B. Same thing happens at bus stops and coffee shops too, everyone's got their headphones in and their bubble up. Real life involves smells and sounds and people doing normal stuff like eating and talking. Nobody's asking for a four-course meal with gravy dripping everywhere. A granola bar or a breakfast sandwich is not going to ruin anyone's day.
