Switched from biking to taking the bus on rainy days and it's way less stressful
I used to tough it out and ride my bike through the rain because I thought it was faster. After getting soaked twice last week and almost sliding out on a wet manhole cover near 5th and Main, I decided to try the bus on Wednesday morning. Hopped on the 42 at 7:15, grabbed a seat, and watched the rain pour down while I just sat there dry. It took an extra 12 minutes to get downtown, but I showed up at the job site not all wet and cranky. Plus I got to scroll my phone instead of watching for potholes. Honestly, saving 10 minutes isn't worth being miserable and fixing a chain on the side of the road. Has anyone else found a backup commute method that beats driving or biking in bad weather?

Rain days are the worst for biking. Bus is my go-to too.

Bus is solid for rain but be careful it doesn't get packed. Sometimes I grab an Uber if the bus is too full cause I hate standing in wet clothes.

Wait until you get a bus that's half empty and someone still decides to sit right next to you with a soaking wet umbrella. That's how you learn to start standing even when there's seats. I've had drivers hit the brakes so hard my backpack flew into some stranger's lap. Ended up taking an Uber once just because my shoes were making that gross squish sound with every step and I couldn't take the pity looks anymore.
