That tip about leaving 15 minutes earlier for the train was right all along

My neighbor kept telling me to leave at 7:45 instead of 8:00 for the 8:15 train into Boston, and I always ignored him. Finally tried it after I missed three trains in a row last month, and now I get a seat every single time. Has anyone else found that just a few minutes makes that big a difference?

Wait, are you saying that whole "five minutes early is ten minutes late" thing actually works in real life? I used to roll my eyes at that advice too but now I'm thinking I was wrong this whole time.

Have you tried just forcing yourself to aim for being early? I used to be late to everything until I started telling myself the meeting or thing was 15 minutes earlier than it really was. It felt dumb at first but honestly it retrained my brain. I still show up like 5 minutes early sometimes but that's way better than the 10 minutes late I used to pull. Once you experience the calm of not rushing in all stressed it kind of clicks. Give it a shot for a week and see what happens I bet you'll be surprised.
