The bench at Grand Central lets you watch the whole 5:15 chaos without being in it
I had 40 minutes to kill before my train out of Grand Central last Thursday, so I sat on that little wooden bench near track 38 instead of standing in the crowd. What I noticed is that everyone walks the same diagonal line toward the 42nd Street exit, and you can see who is about to miss a train from 30 feet away by how they hold their coffee. If you ever get stuck waiting there, grab that bench and just watch for a bit, it makes the time go fast. Anyone else have a favorite spot to post up when you get to the station early?
