TIL my bus route has a secret schedule that isn't posted anywhere

I ride the 42 bus in Chicago every morning and got tired of the posted times being wrong by 5 to 10 minutes. Last week a driver told me the real schedule is on a laminated sheet in the front of the bus, not the stop signs or the app. The city updates those signs maybe twice a year but the drivers get new sheets every pick, which happens 4 times a year. I took a photo of the sheet and now I show up 3 minutes later than I used to. My on time rate went from maybe 60 percent to almost every day. Anyone else find out their route has a real schedule hiding somewhere?
