A lady in Dayton taught me more about boot loops in 10 minutes than 5 certs did
She brought in a laptop that kept restarting, and while I was about to swap the RAM, she said 'try holding the power button for 30 seconds first,' and sure enough the CMOS reset cleared it, has anyone else had a customer fix their own machine with one weird tap?

My uncle does the same thing with every electronic gadget he owns, unplug it and wait a full minute before trying anything else. It's like people who lived through the VCR era just know that letting things fully power down fixes half the world's problems.

That trick saved me more than once with an old desktop that kept freezing during startup. Letting it sit unplugged for a minute actually drained the leftover power and reset the whole thing. Still do it with my router whenever the internet gets weird, and it works more often than it should.
