Old Dell from 2002 still running in a dentist's office I serviced today
Went to swap out a dead monitor at a local practice here in Buffalo. The receptionist boots up their scheduling system on this dusty old OptiPlex and it still has Windows 2000. She said it never broke so they never replaced it. Made me think about how we used to build stuff that just ran forever. Now I'm swapping laptops every 3 years for clients. Anyone else see older gear still kicking in weird places?

Man, that's wild. I still see old Windows 2000 machines running the x-ray software at this one clinic near me. The tech who installed it retired like 15 years ago and nobody wants to mess with a system that just works. It's kind of a relief honestly, knowing some stuff can still chug along without needing a monthly update.

Read somewhere that some old XP machines still run factory equipment because nobody wants to pay to upgrade.
