Rant: Intel stock coolers were garbage 10 years ago and they're still garbage today
I replaced a client's i7-7700 stock cooler with a $25 Hyper 212 last Wednesday and their idle temps dropped from 55C to 32C. Same thermal paste, same case airflow, just a different hunk of aluminum and copper. How are first-party coolers still this bad in 2024 when aftermarket options cost less than a pizza?

Honestly "still bad" is putting it lightly. What gets me is how they keep trying to reinvent the wheel every year instead of just fixing the basics that have been broke since day one.
