Rushing a RAM install taught me a painful lesson
I pushed the stick in without checking the slot properly and bent some pins. The motherboard was ruined and I had to replace it on my dime. Always line up the notches slowly now.

Yikes, that's a rough way to learn. Honestly, everyone talks about the physical part, lining up the stick, but nobody mentions the overconfidence. You see a video and think "that looks easy," so you stop treating it like a delicate part. It's the cheapest part to buy so you get careless, and that always gets me. The real cost isn't the RAM, it's forgetting that patience is a tool too.

Man, that hits way too close to home. I did the exact same thing with a CPU once, just slapped it in thinking it was foolproof. Ended up with bent pins and a huge repair bill, right? You get so sure of yourself that you forget these tiny parts can wreck the whole system. Why do we always learn the hard way when a little caution is free?
