Yeah that's the worst. Did you check the cable first thing or did it take you forever to figure it out? I spent 3 hours once on a PC that wouldn't boot. Turned out the power button header was loose. Felt like a total idiot.

Man, that's rough but I've seen worse. My buddy Dave built his first gaming rig a few years back and spent almost two hours troubleshooting this weird flickering monitor issue. Turned out he forgot to plug the monitor's power cable into the wall outlet, not the surge protector. He had the display cable plugged into the GPU just fine, but the whole monitor was running off of nothing. We had a good laugh about it after, but he was pretty embarrassed.
