The 4 AM server room in Columbus that made me stop trusting logs
Client called in a panic at 4 AM, said their site was down. Logs showed nothing, uptime monitors showed green, but the page was dead. Turned out the RAID controller had been throwing errors for two weeks and the monitoring tool just wasn't checking that sensor. Anyone else have logs that lied to you worse than this one did to me?
