Thermal paste spread patterns don't matter as much as people claim
I've been building PCs for almost 12 years and I still just put a pea-sized dot in the middle. The amount of arguments I've seen in forums about spreading it perfectly with a card is wild. Anyone else just do the dot and move on?

Totally agree, the pea dot method works fine every time.

Three years of using the pea dot method and I have never had a single failure. It's almost boring how consistent it is. Sometimes I wonder if it works too well and people just overthink it. The key is really just keeping those dots small and evenly spaced, that is where most people mess up.
