Three days on a ghost boot loop that should have taken an hour
Had a client machine in Louisville stuck rebooting before the login screen. Checked RAM, swapped the PSU, even reflashed the BIOS twice. Turned out the CMOS battery was dead and the board kept defaulting to a weird SATA mode, which threw the boot drive off. Took me 3 days because I assumed a 2019 board would still hold its settings fine. Anyone else burned a weekend on a $3 battery?

Ngl, that $3 battery just cost you more than a new board would have.
