TIL that most BIOS beep codes actually mean something specific, not just random noise like I assumed
Spent 2 hours swapping out RAM on a Dell OptiPlex last Friday before remembering to check the beep pattern, turns out 3 long beeps meant a dead motherboard not bad memory, has anyone else wasted time chasing the wrong fix because you forgot to decode the beeps?

Did you reseat them or just swap the sticks around and hope for the best? @val949 nailed it, manuals are basically just a formality until something doesn't work. Usually takes one blown boot cycle before we cave and start reading.
