Blew $220 on a 'magic' bond coat, old school mix beat it
Picked up that pricey acrylic bonding agent last month for a driveway overlay in Tulsa, followed the label exactly and it still peeled by week two. Went back to the same mix I always use with a slurry coat and a shot of dish soap, zero issues since. Anyone else get burned by fancy additives that hype up more than they help?

Followed the label exactly and it still peeled by week two" is the story of my life with those fancy additives, I swear. I dropped $180 on some "advanced polymer" sealer for a stamped patio last summer, did everything the directions said, and it looked terrible by the end of the month. Then I mixed up my regular old slurry with a splash of dawn and a little extra portland, and that thing's still holding strong through the freeze-thaw this year. It's like these companies just slap a big price tag on a fancy name and hope nobody notices the basics work better. Glad you found the old school mix again, that's the stuff that actually earns its keep.
