I was finishing a patio in Phoenix and finally saw why my edges kept chipping
It was 110 degrees and I was rushing to get the broom finish done before the slab set. My helper pointed out I was pulling the edger towards me on every pass, dragging aggregate to the surface. I'd been doing it that way for a decade. Switched to pushing it away and the edge came out clean as glass. Anyone else have a basic tool move they were doing backwards for way too long?

Can't believe you pulled the edger for ten whole years.

Honestly that's a decade of wear and tear on your body you won't get back. Tbh you gotta switch up the task every hour or so, even if it's just racking the clippings. Makes a huge difference for your shoulders and back. Ngl I learned that the hard way too.

What can I say, Joel, I'm a slow learner with a strong back.
