Switched from a wooden float to a magnesium float on a 12 yard slab in Fresno, and the finish came out way flatter
I was finishing a 12 yard driveway pour in Fresno two weeks ago and my boss handed me a magnesium float instead of my usual wood one. The mag float pushed the cream around instead of dragging it, so I got the surface flat with way less elbow grease on the first pass. Wood still has its place for the final texture, but for opening up a slab fast, the mag is not even close. Anyone else keep a mag float in the truck for the first pass and save the wood for finishing?
