That wet burlap trick on hot days actually saved my pour last August
I was finishing a 30-yard driveway in Phoenix last August. Temps were 108 and the slab was setting up way faster than I could keep up. I remembered an old guy telling me to keep wet burlap soaked and laid over the edges while I worked the middle. It bought me an extra 20 minutes of working time before the sun got to it. No more fighting crusty edges before I can even run the bull float. Anyone else use this on hot pours or do you have a better method?

Huh, maybe it's just me but I've never had it get that bad on a pour. I mean, 108 in Phoenix is brutal I guess, but wet burlap seems like a lot of hassle. Idk, I just work faster and keep a spray bottle handy for the edges.

Right, because working faster in 108 degree heat is gonna solve everything. I'm sure the concrete is just thrilled about that plan. Wet burlap is a hassle but so is a slab that looks like a dried out lake bed. Tell me how that spray bottle works when the sun is cooking the edges faster than you can mist them.
