Tried a magnesium float on a hot slab, total game changer
Had a 40 foot driveway pour last Tuesday in full sun, and the surface kept tearing no matter what I did with my aluminum float. Swapped to a magnesium float after the first pass and the cream came up way smoother, no more drag marks. Anyone else keep both in the truck for hot weather pours, or do you stick to one float all season?

You ever notice how the aluminum just grabs at the surface once it heats up, like it's fighting you the whole way? Swapping to mag midway through a hot pour saved more than one of my flatwork days, so I get exactly what you mean by that smoother cream coming up. It's nice to know other folks are dealing with the same thing and found the fix.
