Walked into a Home Depot in Phoenix and saw the wildest concrete finish

I was grabbing bags of quickrete for a sidewalk job last weekend and this guy had poured a small pad right in the middle of the parking lot. He did a broom finish that looked like ocean waves going every direction, not just straight lines. I asked him why and he said it was for a art project about "chaos" or something. Has anyone else tried a non-standard broom pattern on purpose?

That "chaos" project sounds about right, I can barely keep my broom lines straight on a normal sidewalk so my stuff looks chaotic enough without even trying. I once tried to do a circular swirl pattern on a small patio and ended up with something that looked like a drunk octopus had a seizure with a broom. I'm honestly impressed this guy committed to a whole pad in a Home Depot parking lot for art, thats dedication right there. Most of my concrete "art" projects end up as a lumpy mess that I have to explain away as "rustic" or "abstract.

Holy cow, a whole pad in a Home Depot parking lot? That's insane. I would have been too scared someone from the store would come out and yell at me before I even finished. @raymitchell, your drunk octopus description cracked me up, but honestly I bet that circular swirl thing looked way better than you think, maybe a little trippy but in a cool way.
