I chose the GPS jammer story over the black box theory, big mistake

Last Tuesday I was driving through Tulsa and my phone kept losing signal near the refinery. My buddy swears it's the government testing jammers on us. I figured it was just dead spots, so I ignored him and kept going. Then my car's computer threw a code that matched a known spoofing pattern, which I looked up later that night. Now I'm stuck wondering if I should've pulled over and grabbed my handheld scanner to check for interference. Has anyone else picked the boring explanation and lived to regret it, or am I overthinking this? What would you have done in that spot?

My handheld scanner picked up a pulse near the cement plant last month, so yeah, trust that gut feeling.
