I was at the old missile silo museum in Kansas last weekend and the guide said something that got me thinking...

He mentioned that the silo's original blast doors, which are over 12 inches thick, were sealed shut for over 30 years after decommissioning. When they finally opened them in 2005, they found some old maintenance logs inside that didn't match the official records about the last crew stationed there. It makes you wonder what else from that era might have a different story... Has anyone else visited a site like that and heard a similar detail that didn't add up?

Totally used to think there was more to it, but williams.jenny is right. The boring answer is usually just lost files.

Honestly "didn't match the official records" just sounds like normal paperwork getting lost over 30 years lol. People read way too much into that stuff.
