My uncle in Boise kept saying the 'chemtrail' stuff was just contrails from high-altitude flights. He was right, and I felt pretty dumb.

I argued with him for years, then finally looked up the science on atmospheric ice crystals. Anyone else have a family member who calmly debunked a theory you were into?

My own dad patiently corrected my flat earth phase for about six months.

My cousin went through that phase at 14, and we just asked him to explain how time zones work on a flat disk. He got stuck for a solid hour and gave up. Sometimes you gotta let them hit the wall themselves instead of just telling them it's there.

Honestly, that's a better outcome than him buying you a telescope and crushing your whole world view at once.
