Overheard two guys at a coffee shop in Portland talking about 5G towers

One said the new tower near his apartment went up in 3 days, no notice. Claimed his neighbor's headaches stopped right after they turned it off. Made me wonder how much we really know about what's being installed. Anyone else hear similar stories near them?

Three days with no notice feels like they're trying to slip something past people without questions. If I'm spending that much time near something that puts out radio waves, I'd want to know the power levels and frequencies before it goes live. The real question is why the process is so rushed instead of leaving room for public input.

Didn't a friend of mine say the same thing about a cell tower near their place last year?

Honestly, it's funny you mention that because my neighbor had the exact same worry about a new transformer box that popped up down the street last spring. Ngl, he spent a whole weekend building this makeshift faraday cage out of chicken wire and old aluminum siding, convinced it was gonna mess with his sleep or something. Tbh, it was more of an eyesore than anything else, and the power company just shrugged and said it was standard equipment. But the whole thing made me realize how jumpy people get when they don't understand what's being installed near their homes. The lack of notice is the real kicker though - it makes folks feel like there's something to hide even when there might not be.
