Paid $120 for a deep dive report, got a recycled blog post instead

Tried one of those private research services for a UFO sighting timeline I've been tracking since 2019. Sent them my files and $120, figured they'd dig into county records and old news archives. What came back was basically a Wikipedia summary with my own links pasted in. No new sources, no court docs, no witness interviews, just fluff. Felt like a scam but they did answer my emails fast. Now I'm back to using the library's microfilm machine at the downtown branch. Anyone else shell out for research help and get nothing useful? Thinking of building my own source database instead, but that's a huge time sink.

You ever get the feeling you paid 120 bucks for someone to hit Ctrl+C on your own homework? lol, sounds like they outsourced your research to a guy named Dave who reads Wikipedia for fun.
