Sat through a 4 hour city council meeting in Reno about 5G towers and left more confused than when I walked in
A guy in a tinfoil hat and a lady with a binder full of studies both made sense somehow, and the council just voted yes anyway in 20 minutes. Now I do not know who to believe, the telecom rep or the guy who said his tomatoes died. Has anyone actually read the studies they keep passing around at these meetings?
Is it really that big of a deal though? I mean people have been freaking out about every new tech thing forever, microwaves, cell phones, wifi, and somehow we are all still here. The tomato thing is weird but tomatoes die for like fifty reasons, bugs, mold, too much sun, not enough water. I skimmed one of those studies once and it was like 200 pages of stuff I could not even pretend to understand, so honestly I just figure the odds of a tower hurting me are way lower than the odds of me getting hit by a car on the way to the store.
