Serious question about flat Earth vs globe models
I compared actual math from two different approaches to predicting sunrise times (one based on a flat plane, one on a rotating sphere) and the globe model was spot on within 2 minutes every single day for a month. I live in Montana (near 47 degrees north) so I picked a spot with a clear horizon and ran both formulas against what I actually saw out my window at 6 AM. The flat Earth model was off by as much as 45 minutes during winter, which is a huge gap you can't just ignore. People argue that perspective or refraction explains it away, but those excuses fall apart when you test them against real data over multiple weeks. Has anyone here actually run the numbers themselves instead of just watching YouTube videos?

Damn, that's some solid legwork right there. I remember reading a similar test someone did with a high-altitude balloon and a camera, and the curvature they caught on film was exactly what the globe model predicted. Your sunrise math thing reminds me of that, just real world numbers that don't lie. Props for actually getting up at 6 AM for a month to check, that's more than most people do.
