The tire pressure in my truck went from 35 to 22 in one winter...

I never checked it until my gas mileage dropped like a rock over 3 months. Turns out cold weather shrinks the air inside. Has anyone else noticed their car acting different in November versus July?

@david562 nailed it with that half-empty glass thing lol. yeah man, i had the exact same issue last winter. my little sedan's tires dropped from 36 to 21 over like two months and i was wondering why i was filling up twice as often. started checking them at every gas stop too after that. cold air plus stiff seals is a nasty combo for sure.

Guess winter turns tires into half-empty glasses too.

yeah that happened to me last year, i dropped from 38 to 24 in like six weeks once the real cold hit. what gets me is people don't realize it's not just the cold shrinking the air, it's also a slow leak that gets worse when the rubber seals get stiff. i started checking mine every time i fill up now, just a quick glance at the dash readout. if it's more than 5 psi off from summer, you gotta top it off or you're burning way more gas than you need to.
