Tried the 2-2-1 ratio for backing up my hard drive and it finally made sense

I kept losing files every time my laptop crashed so last month I tried this 2 local copies, 2 external drives, 1 cloud backup system I read about on a data hoarding forum. Took me like 3 hours to set it up across my home office in Austin but when my SSD died last week I only lost stuff from that same day. The cloud restore took 2 days but I got back everything from my photos to my tax returns. Anyone else have a backup setup that actually worked when shit hit the fan?

Took you 3 hours? I spent a whole weekend setting mine up and then tripped over the external drive cord the next day. At least your system probably didn't end up stuffed in a drawer with the cat hair.

Tape the cord down with some command strips, that drawer life is rough lol.
