Found a stat about fuel costs that changed my bid strategy

I was going through old job files from a 2022 project in Columbus and noticed our fuel surcharge was only 8% back then, but diesel has jumped over 40% since. That gap is eating into my margins on longer hauls without me realizing it. Has anyone else adjusted their per-mile rates to account for this, or are you still using the old percentage?

Might be reading this wrong, but last week I tried adjusting my rates for a 600-mile run and the customer just laughed at the new number. Diesel math only matters if somebody actually pays it.
