That concrete delivery took 6 hours longer than I planned
I had a small foundation pour for a shed last spring, figured it would be a quick half day job. The mix truck got stuck in traffic from a highway closure I didnt know about, then the pump guy showed up late. By the time concrete finally hit the forms it was almost 4pm and I was racing daylight. Whole thing took 9 hours from start to finish when I budgeted 3. Anyone else have a simple day turn into a nightmare over one dumb delay?

Figured three hours total including travel and pump setup, which is cutting it too tight for any real pour.

Six hours late is just part of the game with concrete. You can't control traffic or pump schedules, so budgeting 3 hours for a pour is setting yourself up.

Gotta push back a little - I've done plenty of pours that went just fine within three hours (you know, with a good crew and a tight plan). Seems like you're making it out to be a bigger deal than it usually is.
