Has anyone else found a specific technique that really helps with heat protection?

My cousin air dries her hair halfway first.

My stylist in Seattle does the same cool shot trick. It made a huge difference for my fine hair. That client gave you solid advice.

Honestly, my wife swears by some heat protectant spray before she even touches the curling iron.
