A client in Seattle changed how I think about color correction
I was working on a client last month who had box dye gone wrong, leaving her hair a patchy orange. My plan was a full color strip and start over, but she asked if we could try to save her natural base first. We spent two hours doing small test sections with a demi-permanent glaze instead, and it actually worked better than a full reset. Now I'm split: part of me thinks a full correction is the only safe way, but her result makes me want to try more gentle fixes first. Has anyone else had a client talk them into a different method that turned out better?

Two hours on test sections? I would have lost my mind waiting for that. But a demi-permanent glaze fixing a box dye mess is wild.

The test strand wait is the worst part, honestly.

Yeah, had a client with a greenish tint from a bad swim. Instead of a full bleach, we did a clear gloss with a tiny bit of red-violet to cancel it out. It took one process and her hair felt so much better after. Sometimes the gentle fix really IS the right call if the base is still solid.
