Can we talk about the pressure to use a 10-step skincare routine on every client?
I used to push a full routine with serums and toners for everyone who sat in my chair at the salon in Springfield, thinking more steps meant better care. After a client came back with serious irritation from a product I recommended, I switched to a simple 3-product plan based on their actual skin needs. Now I start with a basic cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen, and only add more if we see a real issue after a month. Has anyone else moved away from the complex routines and seen better results?

More steps meant better care" is the biggest lie the beauty industry ever sold. Felt like a chemist mixing potions for no reason. Switched to the basic three for everyone and my clients' skin actually calmed down. Turns out most people just need their barrier fixed, not a ten step attack. That irritation incident was the wake up call, for real. Now if someone's skin is doing great on cleanser and moisturizer, I tell them to save their money and leave it alone.

People get way too worked up about skin care routines. It's just soap and lotion at the end of the day, not rocket science. Williamb29 had it right with the jade roller thing, it's all just stuff they convince you to buy. If your face isn't falling off, you're probably doing fine.

Remember when we all bought those jade rollers for no reason.
