Debate: Should we take a cosmetology instructor's advice on nail forms or trust our own experience?
I took a weekend class last month from this instructor in Phoenix who swore up and down that using paper forms for acrylics was outdated and we should all switch to tips or dual forms. She said paper forms cause more lifting and take too long. I tried her method for a week on two clients and both of them had popping issues by day three. So I went back to paper forms and they held solid for two weeks. Now I'm wondering if she was just pushing what works for her or if I didn't do the technique right. Has anyone else had an instructor give advice that totally flopped when you tried it? What did you do about it?

Oh man that reminds me of a welding class I took where the instructor swore we had to use this specific brand of gloves or we'd burn our hands off. I spent sixty bucks on them and they fell apart in two weeks. My old cheap ones lasted six months. Sometimes instructors just get stuck in their own bubble I swear.

Man that sucks. Nothing worse than shelling out good money for something that's supposed to be quality and it just falls apart. Hope you found a better pair since then.
