Found out the hard way that using a towel to dry my brushes was leaving lint in the bristles

After 3 months of wondering why my shadow application looked patchy I tried air drying them upside down in a cup and now they blend like new, anyone else dealt with mystery residue ruining their work?

Took me way too long to realize my "blotchy shadow" was just brush lint. oops.
