Just realized my old way of mixing color was costing me time
I used to eyeball my developer and pigment every single time. After a client's color came out patchy in April, I started using a digital scale for every formula. Has anyone else switched to weighing their mixes instead of volume?

Oh wow, that's so smart. I read a salon blog a while back that said even a tiny bit too much developer can really mess up the color deposit. They said weighing is the only way to be totally exact, especially with those tricky fashion shades. It makes sense, because a scoop of powder and a scoop of liquid are totally different weights. Your patchy client story is exactly why I'd be too nervous to go back to just eyeballing it.

Yeah that salon blog is totally right. My friend tried to mix a pastel pink at home and just used the scoop that came with the bleach powder for her developer. It came out this weird, splotchy peach color that washed out in two days. She was so mad she wasted the money. I mean, it seems like such a small thing but it really does make a huge difference.

Ugh, that's the worst. I feel so bad for your friend. It really is crazy how one little mistake can ruin the whole thing.
