My teacher showed me a $12 brush trick and my foils got cleaner

I used to fight with sectioning clips for years until my cosmetology instructor in Phoenix pulled out a basic rattail comb and showed me how to slice diagonally instead of straight across. Took me about 5 clients to get the hang of it, and now my foils lay flatter with way less bleed. Has anyone else had a super simple tool change their technique like that?
