Question about a really tough client week I just had

Last week, I had three separate clients in a row ask for a 'platinum blonde' but refuse any kind of toner or glaze after the lightening service. The first one, a woman in her 50s, told me point blank, 'I don't want any of that purple stuff, it looks fake.' I explained the need for it to cancel brassiness, but she insisted. By day three, I was so tired of seeing that bright yellow result walk out the door. Has anyone else found a good way to explain toning to clients who just won't listen without making them feel talked down to?

Honestly, is the yellow really that big of a deal? They got the color they asked for and paid for. Some people genuinely like that brighter, warmer blonde and see toner as an extra charge for something they don't want. Maybe just let it go.

That "let it go" part is where I disagree. A bright yellow blonde isn't the same as a warm blonde, it's usually a sign the hair wasn't lifted enough or toned at all. It can look really brassy and cheap, not warm and expensive. Most people asking for blonde want to avoid that yellow look, they just don't know the stylist skipped a step.

It's like trying to explain why a car needs an alignment. Some folks just want to drive it off the lot vibrating.
